Starting something new
You have the idea, but need the structure, setup, and first steps to make it real.
Strategic Business Advisory Partners
The Advisry gives businesses access to people who have made commercial decisions, carried responsibility, and worked through the realities of building and running businesses. We work behind the scenes as a practical advisory partner, helping shape clearer decisions, stronger structure, and the next steps that matter.
We provide advisory and specialist support for a range of businesses, clients, and commercial situations.
Property decisions from the business side: premises, leasing, development, investment, short-term rental.
Day-to-day management of commercial property: leases, rent, outgoings, maintenance, and compliance.
People systems, management structure, roles, onboarding, expectations, operating frameworks.
A focused session to step back, pressure-test the business, and leave with a practical plan.
Websites, lead capture, email, online presence, and practical digital foundations.
Capital conversations for businesses at a turning point. Help directly, an introduction, or alongside existing advisors.

Advisry Racing is part brand build, part content project, and part reminder that business does not have to feel boring.
The Advisry is a family-owned New Zealand strategic advisory firm for business owners. The people behind it have owned, operated, scaled, and exited real businesses — across big-box retail, commercial property, development, and operations — so the advice comes from experience, not theory.
Business owners, founders, operators, and boards — from people setting up their first company to established owners weighing a sale, a restructure, or their next move. If you want a real conversation with people who have actually run businesses, you are who we work with.
We are based in Aotearoa New Zealand with a strong presence in Canterbury and Marlborough, and we work with clients right across New Zealand and Australia. Most advisory work is done remotely by call and email, with in-person sessions where it adds value.
Both. Day-to-day advisory happens over calls and email so distance is never a barrier, and we meet in person when a decision or a session calls for it — including our Strategy Day in Marlborough.
It depends on the engagement. Some are fixed-fee and published — the Website Package at $1,999 + GST ($999 + GST for July), Momentum Pulse from $499/month, the Strategy Day from $4,999 + GST, and the Startup Package for $6,999 + GST. Deeper or bespoke engagements are priced on enquiry. All pricing is plus GST.
We are operators, not career consultants. Everything we advise on — retail, property, development, people, capital, exits — we have done ourselves with our own money and businesses on the line. You get direct, honest advice from people who have sat in the seat.
Big-box and independent retail, commercial property and development, and the operations, people, and capital decisions that sit underneath any business. We advise on strategy, structure, governance, property, HR and systems, exits, and digital.
Start a conversation through the contact page and tell us where the business is and what you are weighing up. We respond to every enquiry within one business day, and the first conversation is about whether we are the right fit — no obligation.
Yes. The initial conversation is a no-obligation chat to understand your situation and tell you honestly whether we can help. If we are not the right people for it, we will say so.
No. We deliberately work with a small number of clients at any one time so the attention and advice stay genuine. It is worth getting in touch early if you have something specific in mind.
We help bring structure, experience, and practical support around the decisions that matter.
You have the idea, but need the structure, setup, and first steps to make it real.
You want advice from someone who has been there before, so decisions can be worked through properly.
The business has potential, but needs more structure, focus, and a clearer path to progress.
Premises, leases, tenancies, investment, development, or property questions need proper consideration.
Roles, expectations, onboarding, management systems, and leadership need more structure.
Sale, succession, capital, governance, restructure, or a new chapter needs clearer direction.
